What is your favorite fountain pen material? It is a tough question to answer, but celluloid really does hold a special place in my heart. It's just a pity it has become so rare in the modern pen industry.
This particular Sheaffer set is made of the gorgeous striated Golden Brown celluloid, and is in excellent condition. I'd probably rank it as collector-grade, because, it seems, it fulfills all the requirements pen collectors look for. There's only the faintest surface wear; otherwise, the pen looks amazing. I hope you can see that in the photograph below.
My focus in restoration work is on all the features that enhance the pen's utility as a writing instrument. Sure, cosmetics are important, but I try to make sure that the pen gives its new owner that special joy to hold, the unique pleasure to write with. This pen writes so well. Due to its superb ergonomics, it can be used posted or unposted, with ease. It's a lightweight pen of medium size, and it should fit most people's hands. The Triumph nib is firm but smooth and forgiving. Ink flow consistent and a touch above average in wetness. If you're interested in buying this pen, please check my Store or contact me directly.
